There is a wonderful Promotional thread going on at Bonanzle. Montrose a fellow Bonanzle member is doing the promotion. He is great at this! There has been over 3,400 views of this post and it hasn't ended yet. It will end on Saturday, September 26.

He has invited all artist of handcrafted items to join in on this promotion thread to let their art be seen. Considering there has been over 200 replies and over 3,400 views, I would say that the art work is being viewed by many.

Thinking of Having a Bonanza at Bonanzle? New Not Known Minimum is Now 15%

If you are thinking of having a Bonanza in your Bonanzle booth, the new, however not announced minimum is 15%. There has never been a minimum set by Bonanzle as to the discount that you could offer. However there is now. If your prices are already low, you may want to rethink having a Bonanza.

Oh yes, you can set up a coupon code. However, your booth will not be on the front page with those having a Bonanza.

It seems that the "Block Party" is where this little unannounced minimum was discovered. Now it would seem to me that Bonanzle would want this "Block Party" to continue. Here is what Bill said in a comment on his blog:

Seems that those were some good sales and fees, which means more money for Bonanzle. At that time there was no minimum 15% discount, it was whatever the seller thought it should be for their business. Most sellers on Bonanzle also sell on other venues. I know that my prices went down coming from e-bay. The fees were lower so I lowered my prices.

So if you are thinking of joining Bonanzle and ever want to have a Bonanza, make sure that your prices are such that you can take the new non announced minimum 15% discount. Maybe make that 20%, considering this came from the help section of setting up your Bonanza.

The average Bonanza discount in Bonanzle's first few months of operation has been about 10-15%. We're hoping it will nudge up closer to 20%... that seems to be about the lower level that gets buyers smelling blood in the water.

Which makes me think that if in the beginning there were no minimums on the discount that you could offer for your Bonanza, then they will soon nudge it to the 20% ,to "get buyers smelling the blood in the water".

Bonanzle Says There is Nothing They Can Do?

A few weeks ago there was someone that had "used" someone else's code to build Bonanzle templates. When this is someone that does this for a living and another comes along and "uses" someone else's code this in my book is theft.

Anyone that does code has a unique way of doing it and they know their own code, not to mention there is always or for the most part, things that are in the code that are really not needed to make the code work. It is just their style of code.

When this was brought to the attention of Bonanzle support, nothing was done. It was OK with them, there is nothing we can do.

This happened to me, however it wasn't a code, it was only a picture. Now let me tell you this is NOT a picture that I would have stolen from someone, it is far from being a good one. However, it is mine and it was my time that went into taking it.

I too contacted support about it. The reply that I received from them was pretty much, if it's not copyrighted then, we can't do anything.

Not exactly the answer I thought I would get, but it was an answer.

So, if you are selling you really need to watermark your pictures. I have added another picture with the original picture that is watermarked, "stolen from BrightestBlessings". Did I think I would ever do something like this? NOT in a million years! However, I use one stock picture and the rest of them I take. I use my time to take them, my time to up load them to my computer and my time to name each of them. Do I consider this stolen property? Yes I do.

If you do not want anyone using your pictures, watermark them, this might not stop a thief, however, it may make it a little harder for them to "grab" your pictures and use so easily.

Bonanzle Now Able to Adjust Your Invoices

After months of working on a new checkout page, Bill has done it. Not only a new checkout page, a new invoice that you can adjust for your customers. Something that has long been needed for discount shipping or just discounted rates.

However, there will always be a trade off with getting something new and that is now there is no space for the pick-up and paying with cash option. You can read Bill's Blog here about the new features.

Bonanzle still has no listing fees and no booth fees only a very small final value fee. If you are looking for another selling venue, Bonanzle just might fit the bill.

More Bonanzle News

Bonanzle has been moving in a forward direction with lots of new and trying to improve features. The newest feature this morning and love it, is the ability to make your Bonanzle widgets custom. Check out the new one on the top right. No, it doesn't color coordinate with this blog, however I am trying to show you, you are now able to choose your colors. An awesome idea for those that have several blogs and need to make them fit in.

The chat box is now able to become a full page size, not sure why you would want to do this, however it is now an option.

Another super feature is that now while you are listing you can place your items into the custom catagory instead of having to list and then batch edit it into the custom catagory. There are also traits that you can add while listing, which again saves time.

The little green dots that use to be next to an item for sale are no longer there. If your item includes the shipping in the price, it will show a little box, free shipping.

There was a HUGE announcement last night on the Brianstorming Bonanzle Show! Last night was the last night of the Brainstorming Bonanzle Show. The host, Auction Wally and co-host Phaedra decided that the Brainstorming Bonanzle Show had been taken as far as it could go.

Now they are looking out for their listeners, they have decided to instead replace the show with a new show called The Selling Circus it will air on Monday nights at 8 est on talk shoe. They have heard and know that for the most part, most of the listeners sell on more than on selling venue. So now instead of just the focus of selling on Bonanzle, they are going to be able to share so much more useful information. Kuudos to Wally and Phaedra for looking out for their listeners!

Bonanzle Up Mobile A Super Auction And Great Results

The Bonanzle Up Mobile raised $759 for the children of St. Jude! The live auction ran about 3 1/2 hours of fun and lots of laughs. Not only did the winners receive free shipping on their items, they will also be receiving a sample spa pack from Phaedra of @theboutique. Auction Wally was at his best. He really kept things fun and moving.

Today is the Bonanzle Up Mobile Charity auction for St. Jude. It will be called live from the Auction Wally Brainstorming Bonanzle Show at 8 est today, Monday, June 1, 2009. You will need two tabs open, one to place your bids in the chat box of the Bonanzle Up Mobile Bonanzle booth and the other to hear the bids being called on the Brainstorming Bonanzle Show. This is for a great cause, the kids!

All items have been donated by Bonanzle booth owners right down to the shipping. So what you bid is what you are going to pay. The shipping is on the donors. Gotta love that! One hundred percent of the money goes to St. Jude.

Bonanzle has had a couple of really neat things added this week. Instead of the little green dot at the bottom of listings now, if you offer shipping included in the price, it shows free shipping. If you are on line, there is an option that a buyer can click and chat with you right then. It takes them right to your chat box. Your items are placed higher search if you are on line. Don't know how well this is going to fly, but we shall see what happens. There seems to also be an up roar after some changes, then things settle down again.

Once again this morning there are some new changes at Bonanzle. The best one is now while you are listing, you can put the item right into your custom categories. It use to be that you would list, update booth and then have to go to the batch editor to place in your custom category. Now everything can be done on the Bonanzle listing page. This weekend is also the FIRST Bonanzle Up in Seattle. Phaedra of @theboutique will be posting to the Bonanzle Up Blog through out the event. A Little Bonanzle News

Bonanzle Bill was very busy last night! International buyers can now search for items that ship international, that is if the seller has specified which countries they ship to. You can read more about it in Bill's Bonanzle Blog.

Also the search has now been set to default to the titles. Search has been a little difficult to use, however this is a huge step in the right direction. When using the search before, oh the things that would show up. Thank you Bill for this! He also did a few other things and you can read about them on the "What's New" page.

This weekend 5/16/2009 is the FIRST Bonanzle Up! This is as exciting as the first new server, Bonanzle write up, 5,000 member and the Brainstorming Bonanzle show. Bonanzle Changes In a Very Short Amount of Time

Bonanzle has come such a very long way in a very short time. I am not talking about numbers here, I am talking about site features. It seems that most of the requested features have been put in place and a few are in place and being perfected.

The first packing slip that Bonanzle had, well it served the purpose of a packing slip. The packing slip today can be edited by the seller to fit their needs and add a message to the buyer. There is even a place to mark it shipped and enter a Delivery Confirmation number. If you wish an e-mail will be sent to the buyer letting them know it has been shipped. Not to mention that the shipping is now seperated from the price of the item for the total.

Bonanzle chat used to have to be delted line by line. This may not seem to be a big deal until it was time to clean up your chat box, one line at a time. Now you can delete all chat with the click of one button.

Bonanzle forums use to be a no frills forum. Now you can post pictures and smiley faces. The day that this happened the forums were full of smiles.

There was no wish list or save for later list. Now Bonanzle has both with the added bonus to be able to tweet an item and e-mail to a friend.

Widgets were something that many had been wanting only had no idea how to go about making. Then one morning, we were able to make our widgets right there on Bonanzle! You can make several different widgets with several different titles to fit your needs.

Listing on Bonanzle is super easy and a few months ago there was no wysiwyg editor. That ment no templates. Well today you can use a template of course it has to be one for Bonanzle to work correctly. You can get custom templates right on Bonanzle at SNL Designs.

You can now search the completed listings, set your booth items up to be seen in the order that you wish, add insurance as an option, block buyers and so many other features that just weren't available a few months ago.

Truly amazing how much the site has changed in a few short months and continues to change. Change is a good thing and not everyone will like it or agree with it. However, Bonanzle has made so pretty terrific changes that for the most part the sellers were very happy with.

Currently Bonanzle has 48,138 users, 12,860 Bonanzle booth owners, and 650 supporting members. Currently Bonanzle is still #4 on the PSU listing count board with 1,702,708 listings. I do believe that by this time next week, Bonanzle will be in the number 3 spot.

A Couple of New Features At Bonanzle

Bonanzle has added more features for sellers. Bonanzle now has the booth optimization feature that is there to help sellers. It is still in "beta" and being built. Things like taking a great picture, promoting, shipping and pricing are just a few. This is going to be a real asset to the Bonanzle community.

The packing slip now seperates the shipping and the cost of the items. This is something that a few or more than a few sellers have been asking for and once again they have been heard and received.

Bonanzle now has the "tell a friend" about an item link, located at the bottom of each listing. As well as the twit it link. Both are going to be a great asset to Bonanzle sellers.

Check out the Bonanzle widget up there in the right corner, it no longer has that white boarder. Not that is awesome! It really looked odd with it, however we did get widgets that are super easy to make and use.

Supporting Bonanzle members can now see just exactly where their buyer came from. Along with their e-mail address for fuuture promotions. You do however have to give your clients an opt out if they choose to do so.

Bonanzle Premiere or Plus Members Can Now Print Out Inventory

There was a new blog from Bill this morning. When you see a new blog, you know that something has changed or a new feature has been added to Bonanzle.

Now Plus or Premiere Bonanzle members are able to print out their inventory. This feature is one that so many had been asking for and now can have. You can also grab your buyers e-mail address for your future e-mail marketing, of course your buyer has to opt into this. And coming next week they will also be able to see exactly where their buyer came from. These memberships can be purchased through Ghost's Bonanzle booth, as well as a whole lot of other cool Bonanzle products.

Bonanzle Says Farewell to Bizzy

After what seemed a never ending day on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, it was finally over. Bonanzle said farewell to Bizzy! As far as most sellers were concerned she had over stayed her welcome of the one day. Her first and last. I don't think she will be missed.

There has also been another change in the amount of promos that you can make in the "promote your booth" forum. It started out with no rules, some folks would have several posts and would continue to "bump" them every time it would roll off of the front page.

So, Bonanzle made it two posts per person per day in the "promote your booth" forum. Folks were up set with "only" being able to post two per day. So, it is now you can post five posts in the "promote your booth" forum every three days.

Oh my goodness! Folks are upset again, they have lost one post. What isn't being realized here is that when the post roll off to the second and third page with in a few minutes, you have wasted your time with the post. No one is going to see it and they aren't going to go looking for it.

This new system will work to the sellers advantage. When posting, your post will stay at the top for quite a while. They aren't rolling off of the front page within minutes, people will now see them. This is what you want, isn't it? People to actually see your post.
